Mediation – Being Prepared Matters

Due to precautions related to COVID-19, we have expanded our options for remote consultations but remain fully operational. Please contact our office to discuss whether a full phone consultation or video conference is appropriate for your situation.

Since Mediation is a less expensive alternative than litigating family law cases, being prepared benefits the client even more. Conflict fueled by a litigated case often brings about long lasting emotional scars for adults and children alike. That is where Catherine’s experienced and compassionate advice and guidance, in advance of Mediation, can be an asset.

Catherine is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, since 1998, who thoroughly prepares her clients for Mediation, in advance, by evaluating every part of the client’s case. Each aspect is carefully reviewed, whether it be child support calculations, intricate time sharing schedules, valuing and distributing property and financial assets, or analyzing alimony and shared parenting issues. A personalized Mediation Summary is compiled with the detail and care that ensures the client that Catherine has thought through every important element of the case, is ready to represent the client during the Mediation process, and is able to answer the client’s questions and concerns before Mediation begins.

Being prepared by Catherine can give the client confidence to know that their end result is best for them. Catherine prepares with her clients a detailed, written Mediation Summary, which outlines the client’s wishes for each aspect of their family law case, together with supporting facts and applicable family law.

While a mediator is neutral and helps both sides create a complete Settlement Agreement, clients feel they have more control of the process and don’t feel they have to let the judge decide what is best, when they are fully informed and confident in the attorney representing them. Having a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator as your attorney may help you be the best prepared for Mediation and may give you the greatest chance to settle your high conflict divorce case, contested paternity case, and other family law matters, without the added expense of going to Court. Being prepared by Catherine can give the client the assurance that the end result is best for them.
